How to create a new Meraki network in Pollux

Pollux allows you to create new Meraki networks and assign them directly to locations and devices. This guide walks you through the steps to create a network from start to finish.

Steps to How to create a new Meraki network in Pollux:

Navigate to Meraki --> Networks

  • In the left-hand menu, go to Meraki → Networks.

  • The overview shows all existing networks, including their connection status.

TIP

Use the filters (Assigned / Unassigned) to quickly check if a network is already linked to a location.

Click Create New

Select + Create New in the top-right corner to start the process.

Enter General Information

Choose a Location from the dropdown list. This defines which location the new network will be connected to.

TIP

Make sure the location already exists in Pollux. If it doesn’t, create the location first before adding a new network.

Select a Meraki Template

  • Select a Meraki template from the list if available.

  • Templates help apply standard configurations automatically.

TIP

Pollux engineers can create a mapping between locations and Meraki templates. When this mapping is in place, selecting a location will automatically assign the correct template.

Select Devices

Choose the devices that should be included in this network. The list shows all items available in the Meraki organization inventory:

  • Router* – Select a router (required)
  • Switch(es) – Select one or multiple switches
  • Access Point(s) – Select one or multiple access points
  • Gateway(s) – Select one or multiple gateways
  • Camera(s) – Select one or multiple cameras

Confirm and Create the Network

Review all information entered. Click Add Network to finalize.

Confirmation Screen

Once completed, a confirmation message will appear: “New network is created!” Click View Network to navigate directly to the network details page.

After a network is created, it may take up to 15 minutes before all changes are fully visible and synchronized across both Meraki and Pollux.

TIP

If you don’t see updates immediately, wait a few minutes and refresh the page. Check the last sync time in the top-right corner to verify.

Encountering Problems?

If you run into issues while creating a new Meraki network:

  • Verify that the location exists in Pollux and is selected correctly.

  • Make sure the devices are already claimed in the Meraki organization inventory.

  • Check if the Meraki API key and organization settings in Pollux are configured properly.

  • Allow up to 15 minutes for synchronization before retrying.

If problems persist, contact the Pollux support team with the error message or screenshots for faster troubleshooting.
